Yesterday I thought I'd have a a bit of a change and have a burrito at Chipotle for lunch. Foolishly, I only checked the calories afterwards.

More than a thousand!

I had it down as an indulgence, but only at the club sandwich sort if levels. This came in at a juicy pub burger and chips!

And the thing is, I can do thousand calorie meals with planning, but not only was this a calorie bomb surprise, it absolutely did NOT feel worth it.

Waste of more than half a day's budget.

Oh, but there are ways to eat at Chipotle and not go too crazy. For instance, cutting out the tortilla and going with a burrito bowl cuts 300 calories, right there.

There was a very recent thread on Chipotle choices that people make that are well within a decent calorie range. If you'd like to eat there while working within a defict, use the search function and find it. It was very helpful! (Speaking as someone with a slight Chipotle addiction)

This happened to me too... What I thought was my normal lunch calorie range burrito BOWL was 800 cals :( no more Chipotle for me. Even the salads, if you check, the dressing has something like 270 calories alone.

You stood there and watched someone stuff a large flour tortilla with meat, rice, beans, cheese, sour cream and possibly guacamole, to the the point that it's ready to burst, and then are shocked at the number of calories?
