Hi guys and gals,
I've been steadily losing weight for almost 2 yrs. (33yrs/F/5"5/275lbs~172lbs) I read a fair amount but don't post often on the forums. I've read over and over again CICO is all that really matters when starting out, so thats what I did. I'm now about 20ish lbs from my goal and I'm starting to wonder when/what are the benefits to tweaking macro's? I'm now set at MFP default settings of C40/P30/F30 and I regularly meet them.

Thanks in advance for your time and advice. ~Sherri

Well, your macros can compliment whatever exercise you're doing. i.e. if you're doing more strength and resistance training, I'd advise upping your protein a bit more.

Depends on how comfortable you feel with your current macros OP.

I'm doing alot of running. (I said when I started at close to 300lbs I was gonna run a marathon) I usually do a couple HIIT runs, a weekly long run, some other cardio stuff (elliptical/stairstepper ect) for a lil balance and strength 2x weekly.

I'm anxious to shed the last of my fat and start lighting all the heavy things! I'm a lil sad that my kids are out of school for summer break and my progress is going to take a back seat for the next 10 weeks. I've been wondering if this might be a good time for a controlled diet break or reverse dieting ect. I'm also open for opinions on this too.

I should have mentioned that I regularly go over on protein and under on fat. How important are fats anyways? I just naturally eat this way. I've tried adding in more healthy fats but I have a tendency to binge on nuts (lols) and I tried avocado a few weeks back and bleg! (I mean do people actually enjoy that crap?!?)

I'm fairly happy with my body composition although there's room for improvement.
