Hi I've been using this app for 55 days now and am curious how often do you guys check your weight, is there a bad number of times or anything? I check mine every morning as that's when I'm the lightest

I also know that when you binge one day, the actual weight gain is registered in around 3 days, not the next morning :-)

Yeah that's my problem I check every morning and Idk when I get up and see I've dropped a couple ounces or so it almost inspires me but I guess that's cause I'm instant gratification kind of person

I usually check once every three days, unless I'm feeling good that day and I think my weight has gone down0
-
I check everyday and use trendweight to see the trend past the ups and downs...0
-
I checked again this morning and I'm down 4.oz and like I said it motivated me, I just went for a run and did My 21 day fix it video before breakfast0
-
i do it every day. the trick is to remember somedays you will be heavier and that's ok. just so long as you keep going in a downward trend0
-
I check mine every morning. I don't worry about daily fluctuations too much but look for long term, weekly amd monthly, trends.0
-
I weigh once a week, in the morning before I have anything to eat or drink. I think if I weighed every day it would drive me crazy. That may be something I'll do when I'm close to my goal weight, but I have a long way to go til then.0

If you want to check every day, use an app or a spreadsheet to get a trending weight. That's what I use for my weigh in's. It averages out your highs and lows and gives you a better idea of your progress. Once you get used to the fluctuations, it really won't bother you so much but they can be insane so prepare yourself LOL I have days where I exercise more and eat less and end up picking up 3-5 lbs of water weight by the next day. It's not a true gain but it might be very unmotivating if you weren't used to seeing the daily numbers.0

I hop on the scale whenever I see it out in the bathroom. I have it in the kid's bathroom so I might be in there a couple times a day or none. I only log weight on Thursday morning, though. Seeing the fluctuations actually helps me not to stress out if my Thursday morning weight isn't quite where I want it.0
-
Every morning, although I usually log it once per week only.0

Nothing wrong with daily weighing. You can learn a lot. I might suggest that you log it in a weight app to make a cool chart. I use Libra but there are plenty out there. I only log new LOWS on here as they occur.0
-
I check every day, I can't help it! I try to only log once a week.0
-
I log on here when I see at least a pound less0

I barely check mine. Maybe once a month. Helps me to not get too obsessed with it - I just go by how I feel and look0 -

Same here. I don't see the need to check my weight more than once a month.0 -
I weigh every morning but only log my weight on Sunday morning.0

If you can handle the fact that your weight is going to fluctuate wildly on a day to day basis, it is very useful to log every day. You can plot the data points in a spreadsheet and have it produce a "fit" line to see if you are gaining/losing at the correct rate.0

I take measurments weekly and weigh every one to two months. I feel that I learn more from measuring.0

i use to check mine and log it in every day, but I couldn't handle the fluctuation.0

I "officially" weigh in once/week (meaning I only record that weight in MFP and MY Weight app), every Monday before getting dressed and after going to the bathroom. Still, if I feel like I'm doing well, I'll weigh in on other mornings throughout the week, as well (like this morning). I can't stop myself from doing it, but it hasn't helped motivate me because I'll see water weight fluctuations more that way (gained a pound today since Monday, but have been very dilligent with diet and exercise). Sometimes, though, if I think my official weigh in is off, I'll check again a day or two later to see if my weight is more where I feel like it should be.
Short answer: Whatever works for you is what's best--don't let people tell you what's right and wrong because we all work different ways0 -
I have to stick to once a week. I tried to weigh myself everyday and it was just a major mind game for myself.0

+1 for trendweight. I find that daily logging actually makes me less obsessed about the number I see on the scale on particular day as I'm aware of the patterns my WL follows. I tend to stall or gain for more days than I lose but my drops are often big enough to ensure a nice downward average graph. So when I see a small gain, I shrug and go on with my day. When the drop happens I smile but know I may see some of the weight back by next morning. This whole routine just feels normal and does not affect me much. When I checked once a week and the weight-in fell on a 'heavy' day and I had no clue it was out of the ordinary for that week, now that was stressful.

I don't weight myself, I think it is better to measure parts of your body and do before and after pics.
Weight can be very deceiving, muscle weights more than fat, yet fat has a larger mass. You also have to factor in water retention, food intolerance etc etc.0 -
Thank you guys for all the comments and once I drop all the weight I'm trying to I'll go back to building again and I'll start measuring

I had to have my fiancé hide the scale. I was getting so upset when the number would go up, even just a couple of ounces. I waited two weeks this last time and had gone down 2.4 pounds. Worth the wait to put a smile on my face instead of feeling frustrated every morning.0

I weigh myself on a Wednesday morning and a Saturday Morning.
But I don't obsess too much, if I have to miss a weigh in then it doesn't bother me.0 -

Away from comps, I've moved to more of once every week or two. Three weeks out, I weigh in twice in that week, two weeks out I weigh in three times, and the week of, I weigh everyday. Just so that I know how much wiggle room I have within my weight class0
