I am making a crock pot of bbq pulled chicken for my husband and I... if you were me how would you go about figuring out the calories. I am going to shred it after its cooking so i will have my 3oz portions, but what about the bbq sauce? I cook a lot of crock pot meals... roasts and what now.. how do you figure out calories consumed if weight usually happens before hand? thanks!

I add up everything that went into the crock pot (meat and sauce). Then when I portion it all out, I look to see how many servings I got and divide the total calories by that number.

You can weigh everything before it goes in the pot. And then create a recipe that is as many servings as the total pot is grams. Then weigh what you serve yourself and if it's 100 grams, log 100 servings. You may lose a little serving due to liquids, but I consider that inaccurate logging insurance.

I weigh the food after I cook it, and enter that number as servings. You can lose a lot of water in the cooking process, less so in a crock pot than baking or in an open pot on the stove, but still.
