breaking sugar habits

Hey y'all -- anyone else struggling to break a sugar "addiction"/habit? I've realized lately how much I truly rely on refined sugary stuff to get me through my day and I want to free up those calories for more nourishing, healthier options (fruits and veggies instead of candy, granola bars w added sugar, etc).
Is anyone else going through this right now? Are you quitting cold turkey? Cutting back? I find that it's so hard to avoid added sugar -- it's everywhere, even in seemingly healthy things like yogurt!

I found fruit to help me a lot when I was trying to eliminate added sugar from my diet. Apples are really sweet-tasting and filling because of the fiber. I also found that plain yogurt with some chopped fresh pineapple was really good. Good luck0

Yeah i'm still trying to get over my sugar addiction. It's probably my only issue. I used to eat some sort of chocolate or cake every day.
I cut it out almost completely in the first 2 weeks which was torture. Now I only allow a little bit here and there during my time of the month and I make sure that on days I have anything sugary everything else is super healthy.
If you have it in moderation then you're less likely to cave in and eat loads of it. Try finding yogurts with less sugar in. Even when they say 'low fat' they are sometimes very high in sugar. Fruit helps me a lot but as there is quite a bit of sugar in it I don't have too much.
Sugar free sweets are always a good choice because they tend to taste really sweet as well.0
