small plateau

So I have been on here since May 20th. The calories were automatically set around 1500 for my daily intake and within a week and a half I lost 11 pounds the it stopped and I actually gain some of it back thought I was eating under my calorie intake every day. The scale wouldn't budge an ounce. I decide to up my calorie intake and within two days I started moving again. I am just looking for personal experience since I am new on here.

PS. feel free to add me.

Generally it's not considered a plateau until it lasts multiple weeks. We all lose super fast and consistently in the beginning with the water weight coming off along with the body reacting to it's new regimen. On the scale I lost consistently a small fraction of a pound each day for the first month or two. Then I began to see things slow down and fluctuate.

General advice is eliminate variables from weigh-ins (weigh-in in the morning when you wake up, naked, after going to the bathroom and before you eat or drink anything for the day), drink lots of water, take measurements, watch your sodium intake. I retain more water if I go out to eat a lot because restaurants and fast food places have a lot of sodium in their foods which will show up on the scale. You didn't gain fat, it's just water - so don't stress - just know that fluctuations will happen. Sites like WeightGrapher or phone apps (I use MyDiary) to track daily weigh-ins will allow you to notice an overall downward trend despite fluctuations. Only log new lows on MyFitnessPal.

My morning weigh-ins since this past Sunday have been 171, 171.2, 171.8, 171.0, didn't weigh in, didn't weigh in, and 170.4 today. 170.4 is a new low so I am going down, even though my weight was all over the place this week!
