I want this weight gone more than anything else in my life right now! I can't play the sports I love, my chronic back injury is flaring up so I can barely walk for 5 min and I just feel like crap! So why, oh why do I find it so hard to stick to healthy foods, even the ones I like? I just can't seem to figure it out and even when I make bad choices or eat too much I know I am doing it, I am fully aware that it isn't a good choice and then I just feel worse, but do it anyway.

Activity is not my problem, I work through the discomfort and pain of my back, it's this darn eating thing. I have tried pre-logging my food the day/week before but something always seems to happen to derail my plan. I have tried logging as I go, not logging at all, not buying the food at all, etc.

I just don't know. Maybe I just need a swift kick in the butt.

You cant want it more tha anything otherwise you would commit and do what it takes.
Care to open your diary so others can have a look?

Whats your height, age, starting weight and goal weight plus how long have you been at it and how much is your intended deficit?

You are 100% in control of what you choose to eat, but you still do it, so you need to be more mindful and more careful. Take ownership because the message you want it more than anything when combined with eating things in excess of your allowance are not consistent.

On the good side at least you are trying various strategies. The things that happens to derail these good moves is you, stop disconnecting the reasons for going wrong, own it and either do or do not.

Maybe your deficit is too severe or you arent eating enough of certain foods or you arent focused.

When you get to the point where you want this badly enough, you will just do it. I tell my friends in my FL when their motivation goes, to go to the grocery and pick up a bag of cat litter. If they have lost 25 pounds, I tell them to grab that one, 10 pounds, a 10 pounder, etc. and stuff it down their pants. Then they're to walk up and down the isles of the grocery with it. That usually kicks the motivation back into place.
    Good luck!
