fitbit sync

Am I supposed to sync my charge HR everyday? Im asking because what it says on my fitbit vs the fitbit dashboard does not match, thus messing up my MFP. On my tracker it says I've burned 1400 but on the website it says 1100. On my tracker it says I've gone up 10 flights of stairs but on the website it says 0. Is this because I'm not syncing it? Or is this a faulty fitbit/website.

You need to sync your tracker with your phone or your computer so it can upload the data to the Fitbit website and then sync with MFP. Mine does this automatically throughout the day on my phone; if you're using your computer, the tracker needs to be near the dongle on the computer so it will sync.
If your Fitbit doesn't communicate with another device, the information is just on the tracker and can't be synced to MFP.

i had to re order a dongle ( lost mine who knows where) so I'm assuming thats why. I just figured the data would go right to the computer... magically. or something lol I put in my exercise into MFP but fitbit took them away because i didn't burn the calories.. but totally did lol.0

Ah yep that'll do it. The Fitbit will keep 7 days of data, I think, and that should all sync up once you have a new dongle.
If you have a smartphone, you may be able to use that to sync, too. Not all models of Fitbit are compatible with all phones but you can go here to see if yours would work: https://www.fitbit.com/devices

ok i got it synced thanks to my phone! life saver! Quick question... do you just follow whatever fit bit says as far as extra calories? I have the Charge HR so i assume is closely accurate but I feel like its giving me a lot of extra calories.0

I have a Flex and follow the calorie goal given to me by MFP, including the exercise calories earned from my Fitbit. The Fitbit website may show you a different calorie target - ignore that one and eat what MFP tells you to.
I get around 400 extra calories for 10,000 steps, and I'm a 5' tall gal at 120 pounds.
Keep in mind that it does take some time for your Fitbit to "get to know you," if you will. Up to you if you wish to eat back everything or just a portion for a while. I would say either eat all of them or 50% of them, stick with it for 4-6 weeks, and evaluate. If you're losing faster than expected, eat them all back.
I've consistently eaten back everything and lost just as planned. I'm maintaining for a little while and it's still working

Fitbit prorates your calories by time of day & goes below 1,200. Ignore your Fitbit calorie goal & follow MFP's, eating back your adjustments.
If (and only if) you enable negative calorie adjustments in your diary settings, you'll be eating TDEE minus deficit.
