Just wondering what are other people's experiences with this?

I'm just back from a weeks holiday and decided being the week that it was i was going taking a break from calorie counting, now in saying this i did not binge but i allowed myself to relax when i was out eating with friends, i'd say i ate around maintenance everyday perhaps more which is quite different from my -20% cut from tdee., should i be going straight into cutting now? Not entirely looking for advice but more so peoples experiences with holiday 'weight' or how it affects their diet/lifestyle change..any advice appreciated. :)

I always log while away but eat a bit differently and perhaps a bit more than normal. When I get back, I return to eating the way I normally do at home. I either don't gain or gain very little while on vaca but I keep very active.

I returned on Tuesday from 6 days at an all inclusive resort. I did not log while away. The morning after I returned, I was 6 pounds up from the morning of departure. I immediately returned to logging and my normal food intake. The next day, 2 of those pounds were off the scale. Another one since Wednesday.

So essentially, I gained 3 pounds. I fully knew what I was doing. And I know what it will take to lose those 3 pounds AGAIN!

I don't plan to change anything. I just treat it like an unavoidable setback. No bad, not good, just a life event.

    Good luck!

I don't log while on vacation. I try to make healthy choices and move a lot. When I come home I get straight back into the diet as best I can. I also try to ignore my weight for a week when I get back even though I get right on the scale as soon as I'm home. Within a week or two I'm usually back on track.

Thanks for the replies :)...doing the same, isnt much of a setback at all easy to get back into routine. :)
