Gaining Weight

Hey Everyone!
My names is James and I'm new here so I could use a few tips. Little about me, I'm a 20 year old, working college student whose had trouble putting on weight in the past. My goal is to gain 15-20 lbs. by December and would appreciate any help/advice I'll need to get there!
Currently, I'm 5'9" 140 lbs. male with a bmi of 20. Also, I have a few dietary restrictions (lactose and gluten intolerance).
I've been following a StrongLifts 5x5 beginner's routine for about two weeks now, but would like to know more about improving my diet to help put on weight.
Also, I've been reading up online, but as I'm sure you guys know, there's a lot of information out there. So, I'd really appreciate it if you guys could answer a few questions.
I enjoy running, but understand I'll need a calorie surplus to put on weight. Is it okay to run a few miles (1-3) on days that I'm not lifting?
I've always struggled with my diet--often times it's hard to figure out which food item in a meal has upset my stomach. So, knowing this, could you guys recommend some recipes that are both lactose/gluten free and high in protein (at this point my staples are eggs, tuna, and some kind of meat for dinner).
Also, should I try to decrease my BMI before trying to put on weight?
I hope I've provided enough info and thanks for taking the time to read an interent stranger's post! If there are basic corrections I should make please let me know, I'm open to all advice.
Cheers,
James
