I am looking for inspiration for a good shoulder routine that can be done at home with dumbbells and kettlebells for days when getting to the gym isn't possible.

I usually do front and side raises ( dumbell) or lateral raises. Over head presses or shrugs with rows.0

Dumbbell overhead press, Dumbbell upright rows, Dumbbell lateral raises, Rear delt flyes, facepulls.
I don't do front rows due to bench pressing and dumbbell overhead pressing sufficiently working the anterior deltoid. Dumbbell rows and most rowing movements are good for rear delt development and general back.
It's also good to add in some rotators cuff exercises (internal/external rotations/scarecrows) before a shoulder workout and arm circles, shoulder dislocations. The shoulder joint can be vulnerable, so the deep rotators need attention.
Moreover, stretch: http://www.webmd.com/a-to-z-guides/rotator-cuff-home-rehabilitation-exercises#0 -
