Hi everyone,

I am a 26 yo female, 5'10. CW is 154.4.

All of the online calculators I have used have calculated my body fat to be approx. 28%.

I am completely clueless when it comes to reducing body fat. Can anyone give me some advice/tips to use while I'm just starting out?

Thank you!!

Get into a strength-training program. There are many, many threads on this forum that talk about lifting (heavy, progressively heavier) weights. Read a bunch of those and find a good program like Starting Strength, Stronglifts 5x5, New Rules of Lifting for Women, etc. Take a look at the groups on here like Eat, Train, Progress, and Stronglifts 5x5 for Women. Lots of info in both.

By the way, I'm 5'10, 155 now. Started lifting at 145 pounds last winter and purposely ate over maintenance in order to build muscle. I'm basically the same size I was at 145, but lots stronger and less body fat.

Lifting is the secret to reducing body fat!

Also look up recomp or recomposition. Simple explanation is staying close to the same weight but losing body fat and gaining muscle. You'll eat near maintenance cals and weight train.

Thank you :) I've found that with the last 5-10lbs or so I've lost, I haven't really seen much of a change in my body. I think recomposition is the way to go :)
