I'm just curious about calories... I know they say 3500 calories equal a pound but if I were to eat 3500 calories in a day but burn 600- 800 calories would I still gain?

Well you will probably be retaining water because 3500 cals of food in one day would be challenging to do without the food having loads of sodium. As least for me it would. So yes, you could.

But if you had all low sodium food, no, not that day. do it three days in a row and yes you will gain 1 lbs of fat.

Why? Because your body will burn cals for just being alive. Lets assume 1400 cals, Then you burn an additional 600. If you eat 3500 you have excess 1500 cals. Do that for 2.3 days you will gain 1 lb.

It would depend on what your maintenance calories are. If you maintain your weight at 2500 and ate 3500 and burned off 600 you'd be over by 200 calories a day and eventually gain weight.

What is your TDEE? If you burn 3500 calories a day, then you wouldn't gain. But if you eat 3500 calories and burn less than your TDEE and exercise combined, yes you would gain.

the question is a bit malformed TBH.

If you eat 3500 in a day and have used 2500 of them only 1000 of them go to storage which is 1/3 of a pound at best.
