How can I stop binging?

When I started Insanity I was able to eat clean for 2 months straight. I was so proud of myself because for the past 2 years I've always ate unhealthy. Now that I've completed the program I've been slowly going back to my unhealthy eating habits and I really don't want it to get worse. I thought that starting another beachbody program might help me with getting back on track again with the healthy eating. I just started turbofire and I am on Day 5. I just binged on junk food. I ate a bag of hot cheetos, chocolate covered rasins, more chips and left over steak fries. It's so frustrating!!!! I really don't want to gain the weight back that I've lost so far... I'm actually thinking about doing another turbofire workout tonight just to burn it off, I feel so guilty. Does anyone have advice for me to stop these binges?

Well the raisins aren't so bad!

If you don't buy the junk, you can't binge on the junk. Keep healthy snacks around - raw almonds, plain raisins, some good dark chocolate, fresh fruit, cherry tomatoes, sugar snap peas - so you can reach for those things when you feel snacky.
I wouldn't do another workout - tomorrow's a new day, and a chance to make better choices.0 -
Hate to say it but another Beachbody program isn't going to fix the root cause of what might be causing the binge.

Think about it.. is this a particularly stressful time in your life (i.e. work, school, family) that was similar to what you were dealing with when you used to binge? For the longest time I was in denial (not saying you are) that I was an emotional eater but once I realized the reason I would turn to food for everything was loneliness, stress, etc., it became easier to fix.
ETA: Binge eating is what got me up to the 172... and it took almost 1 1/2 years to finally gain control and start losing it again. You're obviously nowhere near the binging state I was at to have gained so much weight, however just emphasizing that sometimes there are issues that need to be worked on. So, say the reason you binge is because you come home at night and are lonely... start to get in the habit of taking the dog for a walk, going to exercise, etc., anything to keep you from binging during that moment.0 -
replace junk food binging with water. It helped me. Anytime I felt a craving coming on I would pound some water and move on. I was told a lot of ppl mistake hunger for thirst because you are dehydrated. I am not sure if that is true or not but it has helped me from snacking uncontrollably0

You're binging because you've taken the extreme route of dropping foods you like to eat in exchange for eating foods that probably don't satisfy your palate. When I started Insanity I was able to eat clean for 2 months straight. There's no need to completely abstain, especially if you don't intend to eat clean (never met anyone who didn't eat some bad food ever) the REST OF YOUR LIFE. Learn how to eat foods you like in moderation.
For 30 years I've eaten junk food at least once a week. I still have M&M's, Doritos and other chips. I just don't eat the whole bag. And make sure you stay under your calories for each day.
