Any short term fitness improvement ideas?

Okay, so I signed up for Stadium Stomp with my Mum, it's a fitness challenge where you step up and down every step in a football stadium (I believe it's over 7500 steps).

My problem is that I haven't done any proper training and have only been back into my normal gym schedule (Les Mill classes, and light weights) for about 3 weeks, and it's 12 days away! ..so my question is, what is the best way to build up my ability to make it through this challenge in such a short time?

My Mum has been training solidly for months so I’m hoping that she doesn’t need to wait too long at the finish line for me, and I’m also hoping I don’t pass out mid way!

Appreciate your advice…

:)

You have 12 days to improve? Perfect! That's just enough time to heal after getting your cyborg leg implants!

No matter how you train, you're probably going to be in so much pain for a few days after that you'll have difficulty walking & sitting down. Worst case scenario, you'll end up in the hospital with rhabdo, especially from going downstairs.
What you're doing doesn't sound smart. They recommend starting 5+ weeks in advance

I wouldn't do anything particularly intense to try and "make up" for the lack of training. That would be counter productive.

Stay generally active, walk (and cycle if you do that) and take the stairs more often but not much more than you do already. If you have a good general level of fitness already you are probably able to complete this challenge without any specific training. On the day take your time, go slow and if in doubt withdraw if you feel it is getting too hard.

In addition you could always ask the event organiser for their opinion.

12 days is not enough time to make any appreciable improvements in fitness. Pace yourself.....
