    It will depend if you logg your work outs or court them as your daily routine ?

    Although you have a desk job you are still active.
    The rule of thumb is less than 5000 steps (around 2.5 miles) a day - sedentary
    10000 steps lightly active, more than 15000 steps, active etc
    I average 20k steps a day and count myself as active :smile: hope this helps.

    I'd say lightly active

    I hit sedentary (BMR x 1.2) at around 2000-2500 steps
    Lightly Active (BMRx1.4) probably around 5000

    Your workouts you log on top using the exercise diary .. cut MFP estimates for calorie burn in half

    Per this article
    1) <5000 steps.d (sedentary);
    2) 5000-7499 steps.d (low active);
    3) 7500-9999 steps.d (somewhat active);
    4) > or =10,000-12,499 steps.d (active); and
    5) > or =12,500 steps.d (highly active)

    However this is pre exercise and you should set your activity level pre exercise as well.

    Yup that seems to map my stats

    I've just worked it out on a spreadsheet .. for I am a geek :blush:

    my BMR is around 1460

    Judging by my fitbit

    Sedentary would be around 2000 steps which would take me to BMR x 1.2 (1760)
    Lightly active = 5000 steps which would take me to BMR x 1.4 (2060)
    Active = 10,000 takes me to BMR x 1.61 (2200-2300)

    love mah toys

    Exercise isn't part of your activity setting - that's why you log it separately.

    That's pretty much the definition of sedentary. For MFP, you don't include exercise in the activity setting.
