Hi! I'm 53, and lost 123 pounds using this site and have been maintaining it for a little over a year. Heres a few of my tips.

    1. Weight loss is simple. Calories in vs calories out. In other words eat less than you burn, and you will lose. Whether you do it, low carb, low fat or anything in moderation, it's all about the calorie count.
    2. Lose in a way that is sustainable for you. If you can't see yourself giving up bread or cookies or whatever, then don't. You'll just get frustrated and probably give up. Just eat in smaller amounts.
    3. Buy a food scale.
    4. Learn to forgive yourself. (I still struggle with this) If you have a bad day, or even a few, don't guilt yourself into giving up.
    5. It doesnt matter what time of day or how many meals you eat, as long as your eat at the correct calorie deficit.
    6. Don't be in a rush. It took time to put the weight on, and takes time to get it off. People who cut their calories too drastically and lose quickly, rarely keep it off.
Good luck! I hope these help!
