not protecting your LBM as you lose weight so you end up burning through LBM and become skinny with minimal muscle at a specific scale weight you've targeted
it's basically a slight for those who don't 'look good' at a low weight
Muscle is what keeps you tight and looking 'toned' (spits .. it's the wrong word but you know what I mean) .. lack of muscle is not good

when a person has low muscle mass but high percentage of body fat. might have skinny legs, but big love handles etc0

I think of it as someone who is not "overweight", but his/her body still has a flabby, pudgy, untoned appearance.0

Skinny fat is a term coined to describe the situation in which a person has a normal BMI, but has the health risks of an obese person. This seems to be the case when people appear to be skinny, but they have fat built up around their internal organs. It tends to be a condition experienced by people who lose weight through diet without adequate exercise.0

Exercise has nothing to do with it. It happens because they diet below their BMR and put themselves into a catoblic state for extended periods of time.0 -

I think you are wrong on this one. Yes it can have something to do with exercise and not trying to maintain LBM.
