Healthy eating can be somewhat expensive but shopping at Walmart superstore and Costco sure helps me. You need lots of fresh veggies, which are low in calories and keep you full. Your diet should also consist of whole wheat bread, pasta, brown rice, etc., forget the white stuff. You will need fresh fruits, dairy products (eggs, cheese, milk, yogurt), protein (chicken, lean beef or pork, lean cuts, fish, etc.). Pay attention to the nutritional information when buying your food, so that you stay within your limit. Also, when you log your food here, the totals are automatically added for you.
I buy Smart for Life protein bars at Costco and the cost is $21 for 18 bars. I enjoy those when I do not want to bother with cooking, counting, measuring, etc.
Best of luck!
