Exercise calories burn from cycling?

OK, so I know that MFP's calorie burn estimates are whack.

I just started riding my bike to & from work and would love to account for the activity somehow. It's a short ride (3.6 miles, 16-20 mins). I'm sweaty when I get to work, but I'm not sure I'm totally exerting myself. I mean, it's not a race. I just want to get to work.

I'm a 40yo female and weigh approx. 170#. An online calculator tells me 206 calories, each way, but that's seems absurd. I definitely am not feeling like I just ran two miles. What would you estimate?

(Maybe this is a better question for a fitness board, but I've only ever posted here!)

Maybe put half of that and see its effect on your weight over time to judge whether that's the right amount.

Thanks. I mostly just want to get to & from work faster & cheaper than taking public transportation. If that means I can eat an extra two eggs for breakfast or have some froyo, that's just a bonus!

Exactly. Your results will tell you whether you're matching intake to that exercise better than any calculator or device will. At 206 total, rather than each way, that'd be a couple of eggs a day and probably a reasonable froyo a week for doing something you wanted to do anyway. That's a lot of win.
