Pregnancy weight gain

Hello, so I am 29 weeks pregnant with my first child (YAY!) and I am very excited about everything that is happening, except for my weight gain. I knew that I was going to gain weight and the doctors wanted me to gain between 15 and 20 pounds which I was fine with. Well I have gained almost 30 and they have told me to stop gaining weight even though I have been told the last two months are when you gain the most weight! I don't know what to do and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions? My OB suggested I go to a nutritionist but I don't know if I have the time or the money to do this. HELP!

Will your insurance cover the nutritionist?
30 really isn't that bad, even if you end up at 40, not that bad. You are growing a person. Watch your portion size. Eat reasonably, lots of fruits and vegatables. Don't use "eating for 2" as an excuse to over indulge. Watch salt intake as it leads to bloating and swelling. But don't really stress about it. I wouldn't encourage a pregnant woman to count calories or anything.0 -
Your body will do what it wants to do while you're pregnant. Eat sensibly, log your calories in order to hit your maintenance goal + 300 cals for baby. Stay active and fit even if it's hard because you can get so tired. If you know you're doing everything "right", don't put pressure on yourself to "not gain too much". Doctors' guidelines are guidelines and not everybody can fall under those.0

See, I did for my 2nd and felt it helped me stay on track and aware of the "not eating for 2" excuse. Without that tool, I might have eaten everything in sight because I just had no ability to stay reasonable if it weren't for that accountability of logging.

Lol I gained waaaay more than that, but my cravings were tuna mayo and potato which didn't help things, I'm working to lose it now. Don't stress too much, just enjoy your pregnancy, try to make healthier choices and work on the weight when your little one is here ..
Only advice is dont give in to every unhealthy craving, although I was super hungry all the time and I did exactly that. Hence my current weight problem.
Good luck x0
