If I keep my food log successfully at 1200 calories, is a half hour daily ribbon enough to lose weight? I have 12 lbs to lose (post partum) Thoughts?

The weight you lose is based on a calorie deficit, not exercise.
So if your maintenance calories are at 2000, and you eat 1200 you have a 800 deficit and therefore will lose weight regardless of exercise.
However, exercise is good for your body. Lots of benefits for your heart etc. so go for it.

    1200 net or gross?

Can you please provide stats? I have a feeling at your age and weightloss goal, 1200 is pretty aggressive. I'd guess you'll drop weight at a quick pace if you're at 1200 without exercise.

I'm 33 and need to lose 15 post partum lbs. Is 1200 too little? That's what mfp gave me..

The fact that MFP has given you 1200 calories (the lowest it will go for a female) is a good indicator that you're trying to lose too much too quickly. If you only have 15 pounds to lose, make sure you don't have MFP set to lose 2 pounds per week. Here's a good guideline:

    Pound per week goals
75+ lbs set to lose 2 lb range (-1000 calories per day)
Between 40 - 75 lbs set to lose 1.5 lb range (-750 calories per day)
Between 25-40 lbs set to lose 1 lb range (-750 calories per day)
Between 15-25 lbs set to lose 1 -.50 lb range (-500 to -250 calories per day)
Less than 15 lbs set to lose 0.5 lbs range (-250 calories per day)

The problem is, if you don't have a lot to lose it's pretty hard, if not impossible, to meet the 1000 calorie deficit needed each day to lose 2 pounds per week. MFP also has a 1200 calorie lower limit, for health reasons, so anyone who is aiming for more weight loss per week than they should be is going to end up with 1200 calories per day no matter what. That means, even if you set MFP for 2 pounds per week, you aren't actually going to lose that much because you aren't really creating the necessary calorie deficit.

Since you don't want to undereat so much that you lose excess lean muscle mass along with the fat change your goal to .5 pound per week, eat a little more, lose a little more slowly but in a way that's going to leave you more healthy when you're done.
