I'm about to have foot surgery on Tuesday, and am ordered off my feet for 6/8 weeks. I was wondering what tips people had for making sure I am able to lose or at least maintain during my recovery.
Thank you!
Thank you!

Simple, keep your calories in check. As long as you are at or under your maintenance calories, you will maintain or lose. It won't be easy without exercise, but it is possible.0

i had a hysterectomy and i thought it would be easier to lose after that b/c i didn't feel up to eating. although i couldn't do ANY exercise for 12 weeks, i still thought i would be able to lose. WRONG. i gained big time. WATCH YOUR CALORIES! people would bring food over for us to eat since i wasn't able to be on my feel long enough to cook and even though i didn't think i felt like eating, i would end up eating far more calories than usual. i also didn't use MFP.0

This, except I would add make sure your activity level is set to "sedentary" if it isn't already. Also - watch your snacking habits. You might end up with more down time than you're prepared for and get bored, especially if you're normally active. Nothing tempts like boredom. I can resist snacking while hungry better than I can while bored.0 -
You can do upper-body workouts like boxing - look in the Success Stories forum for a current thread from a man in a wheelchair who lost 75 lbs and has maintained it long term.0

I'd take the time to cook and freeze as many individual portions of food as possible so that you have easy options without having to cook.0
