Does anyone know approximately what 800 calories of pasta looks like?

Hey everyone,

I know it's a strange question, but I always eat most of my calories at night for dinner, so I typically have 800-1000 left. We do eat a lot of pasta and rice since that's what everyone always cooks in our house. Unfortunately they refuse to cook whole-grain since they don't like the taste which is bad for me since white pasta doesn't make me full very much. I absolutely love pasta, so it's easy to go over board on it.

Thank you! But unfortunately I wasn't able to measure it because the sauce was on it before I went to dinner.

Cooked or uncooked? 800 calories of pasta is about 4 servings, so depending on the box (typically 6-8 servings per box) either 2/3 or 1/2 box. Ish. That does not include any sauce. Values for pesto, alfredo, and marinara will vary rather wildly. I can fit about 2 servings in my typical Corningware 2-cup cereal bowl, but that's extremely rough estimation.

I feel terrible since I ate such a huge plate of pasta. :( But I absolutely love stuffing myself at dinner if I have the calories left. Today I had 50 grams of chocolate cereal with milk (270 calories), oatmeal (50 grams) with water (175 calories), 50 grams of chocolate cereal with milk (270 calories), then I burned 400 calories on the elliptical. So end up having 1085 calories left for dinner  So hopefully I didn't over eat that limit.

800 calories is about half of a one pound package of pasta.

Wow thanks so much everyone :D!!!! I did alright then :) My mother in law made 750 grams of pasta for 6 people. So I'm roughly estimating 560 calories per person for the pasta. :) Of course it's more because of the sauce, but the sauce wasn't too many calories. :)
