My first 30 Days - sort of

I have been needing to do this for a long time. I had been very slowly easing my way into squishy couch slug territory. I have always eaten well, but too much and constantly.
I prepped myself when I found MFP. I told myself that as of today (May 16) I would start moving more and logging my food. Then on June 1 start my new-ish way of life.
By logging my foods I confirmed (I already knew) my portion control was way out of whack. I also learned some interesting things about the quality of my food. I eat good healthy food so my thought process was - it's good for me I can eat it - it's not like I'm snarfing Twinkies and Coke. WRONG ! Fat is still fat.
The short route to work is a half mile walk - the long way is one mile. I resolved to walk everyday - I have, I even go the long way both ways some days. I dusted off my bike for my days off and go about 12 miles. Now this is all on Cape Cod in the spring - I'm waiting to see if this will all continue in a lovely New England winter - I think it might.
Come June 1 my official start date I had already lost 9 pounds, but didn't feel any different. Someone posted a 30-day crunch challenge - my nemesis - I have accepted that challenge and am half way there to my supreme surprise.
Today - June 16 - I am feeling the results. No scale or measurement changes since, but I am feeling more energy, I don't sweat as much, I can bend over without grunting, my clothes fit better and I just feel a little different.
Just last night I decided I will do a C25K. Over the years I have made so much fun of runners that I can only tell you guys this. My family will poke fun for decades to come.
I have planned for my eventual plateau, it will come soon since I only want to lose 25 pounds, and I will not get discouraged. I have changed my way of life and I like it. And best of all no one around me has noticed my change in eating habits or activity. That was also one of my goals.
Thanks for reading, I know it was a bit long, but I hope it will encourage others to start or continue.
