Hi Everyone!! I working as a Gallery Assistant/Events and normally my job is stading for long long hours and patrol...do you happen to know how many calories can you burn doing that?

Not many I wouldn't think. I wouldn't add any calories to my average daily calorie burn for that. Personally the only exercise I add to my activity level of 'lightly active' is the calories I burn at the gym. I don't add any of my steps from daily activity or dog walking or housework - I think they are accounted for in the 'lightly active' category.

If you really feel that you do a lot of walking (like a waitress or mailman) you can put your activity level to active.

As a police officer, l can patrol, both on foot or on a bicycle. I only record the miles done on the bike though

Work (including housework, yard work & childcare) is part of your activity level, and should never be logged as exercise.

If it's mostly standing, choose lightly active for a few weeks, then reevaluate your progress.

Work = activity level. Workouts = exercise.
