I've ran 50 miles 14 runs this mouth. I want to run more. I think this Garmin vivofit helps. What else gets you motivated to get out for a run?

(I haven't run in years, mostly because I make up dumb excuses not to. My current one being my hair isn't the right length) I find motivation in people thinking I'm crazy for running. Also cute running clothes are a plus! :) I also remind myself of the "runner's high" I used to get and how great that felt.

Dropping three pant sizes in four months and getting off diabetes meds is all the motivation I need to get out running. Starting to run is one of the best health decisions I've ever made. I can't run far at the moment but I'm getting out at least every other day. I love it!

I ran 5km for Cancer Research UK. Three times. I used to only ever run for the bus. Now I want to work up to the 10km race
I have a Tom Tom GPS Watch which has a race function so I can race my previous runs. It's surprising how competitive I am against even myself

Beer! Calorie deficits from running allow for some great treats. Having some goal runs planned helps. I have a hilly half marathon in August that keeps me heading out the door to train. Also when I do run I try to not do laps. Out and back runs are great because once you are at the half way point you have to run that distance again to get home.

Join the June 2015 Running Challenge. And then the July 2015 Running Challenge. Etc.

Posting your run calendar up is... motivating!

Also... a trick I do is run for errands. For example I squeezed 16km in yesterday dropping the car off at the mechanic and then running home... the long way. Or the week before ran to the optometrist and back. Or to breakfast with my brother and sister in law. There are plenty of opportunities where a sweaty person wouldn't matter or you can make it a loop home. I do the same with cycling as well.
