just ran 5km and burned 600cal. Will make today's calorie goal a lot easier!

True, exercise helps the calorie goals a lot...however, it's pretty unlikely you burned that many calories in a 5 km run. A good estimate is .63 multiplied by your weight (in lbs.) per mile.

I run 3.5 miles in 40 minutes my weight is 200lbs just about every day on a treadmill my gross calorie burn is usually around 630 calories after doing the calculations my net calorie burn drops to around 570 calories burnt. Hope this doesn't upset you it's still a good burn.
