Calorie deficit confusion

Hi everyone,

I am looking for some clarification on creating calorie deficits. My counter says I should be eating about 2,000 calories a day. On days that I do not exercise, should I be cutting 500 from that and then on the days I do exercise, I should only be cutting 250? I know I need to start consuming more calories too, right now I'm only eating about 1,000 to 1,100 a day. I just don't want to start gaining more weight by adding a lot more calories.

You shouldn't be cutting anything, you should be eating to your calorie goal. Your calorie goal already includes your deficit.

    Eat 2000 per day.

Set up your MFP profile with the correct activity level for your daily activity without exercise, pick a weight loss per week goal, then eat your MFP goal when you don't exercise and eat your MFP goal + some of your exercise burns when you do workout.

MFP is already doing the math so that you will lose weight.

Your calorie deficit is built in already.
