What do you think of diet pills? Have they ever worked for you?

I'm thinking about trying adios tablets to aid in weight loss but I don't know if it's just going to be a waste of money or if anyone might have better suggestions on here.

    1. Eat less
    2. Exercise
    3. Save your money
    4. ???
    5. PROFIT!!

Seriously, diet pills are either stimulants that will *kitten* with your heart (happened to my mom when I was a kid, she ended up in the hospital), or those non-stimulant ones that really serve no purpose. Don't bother.

Never heard of Adios. I used OxyElitePro (no longer sold; new formula is crap) and I lost 10 lbs without changing anything else. I stopped taking the pills, the 10 lbs came right back. So, again, they no longer sell the original formula of OxyElitePro (new formula is crap) and the weight came back when I stopped the pills. :)

Back in my 20s I lived on FenPhen cigs and coffee, I was thin, but not healthy. I don't think ANYTHING on the market is worth the money now. At almost 46, doing weight loss the cico way I feel better than I ever have. So, to answer, can a pill help you lose weight ? maybe. Is it sustainable and worth it for long term? NO!!!!!!!

Haha, thanks for the dank meme, it helped explain things in a language I understood.

I'm sorry to hear about your mum, I'll avoid diet pills, thanks for the advice.

You could find much more exciting (and useful) things to spend your money on I'm sure.

    I'm glad I could help. :)

I have a friend who used to use fat-binding diet pills. She didn't change her diet at all, just relied on the pills to stop the fat being absorbed (or whatever it is they claim they do). She had to stop after she blocked TWO toilets by pooping out liquid fat, I have so much sympathy for her poor husband who had to unblock them.

Alli is the only one I can think of that is FDA approved. Side effects include "anal leakage", so yeah... at your own risk.

It was on the news in Ireland last night that a young man in his twenties died from taking diet pills that he sourced from the internet. Please don't risk it. There is no quick fix for overeating in my opinion except to under eat and exercise until you have lost the weight and eat at maintenance to keep it off. If we stopped looking for quick fixes to problems that didn't occur quickly we would be healthier.

A waste of money. Supplements aren't necessary

Their history has shown that only the dangerous ones work, so I've stayed away.

Well, Alli helped, but women were involuntarily splurging poop at in opportune times, so that's out based on unpleasant side effects.

Don't know about the new one. Have to wait and see. :)
