Tracking Salt

I usually roast vegetables and add some salt just to taste. Should I be tracking that? I haven't been because I don't feel like I'm just mindlessly pouring salt on everything. I also feel like that's becoming a little too obsessed with tracking, imo. I'll do it if I need to though.

I track sodium for all food I ingested. I usually do not track table salt unless it is more than 1/4 tsp.
I do not use table salt anyway.
I found most of the raw food has already sodium.
Processed food has tons of sodium.
That is more than enough for my daily sodium target

Having hypertension, I still only watch my processed foods, not the dash or two of salt I put on my food. Sodium issues generally arise from eating a lot of processed foods, not really from salting your own food unless you're just dumping it on in heaps.

Keep in mind that sodium isn't this all around evil thing...it is an essential electrolyte. Too much is not a good thing, especially in the absence of adequate potassium...but not getting enough is also a bad thing, especially if you're active...if you're not getting enough sodium, you'll cramp the feck up.
