You can add me. One thing that helped me was to do a little research. As a black female, I'm more prone to high blood pressure and heart disease, so I googled to find out what foods were filled with the good fats and low in sodium and protein and that's helped me pick more healthy foods and be more creative with recipes. I also didn't throw out/abandon my favorite foods but ate them in moderation: if the serving size is 1/2 cup of my fave ice cream, I eat only 1/4 cup and that usually satisfies my cravings. When I burn calories with exercise, I treat myself with a small treat to make up for the calories burned.

You can add me as well, I'm 44 and for the first time in my life, I went over 200 lbs, that was in April, since then I've lost 23 lbs, I used to run and bike, but haven't in years, I started it back up and within a week, hurt my knee. I took a few weeks off, then went at it again, this time walking instead of running, tried running again a week or so ago, and now my other knee is hurting, so I'm not running again for along while, rather cycling and walking.

I've seen lots of people recommons (and I hope to transition to this myself eventually) just taking 1/2 a day or so and cooking for the entire week (or more) and packaging it up into meal-size portions and freezing it. That way you can just pop something into the microwave when you're ready to eat.

Add me.. I'm 44 as well and started at 323lbs. I'm down to 260 and understand the issues of knee and ankle pain related to weight and working out. Try to hit lower impact cardio when possible.
