Jeremy, I've been dieting for 5 months and have lost 67 lbs. Last week only 0.9. I exercise several times a week which includes elliptical, tread mill and swimming. I want to start lifting weights for toning and metabolism but haven't done much with that. I do belong to a wellness center and will likely have to hire a coach to at least get me started cuz I really have no idea what I should or shouldn't be doing.

I'm a 57 year old female and I'm 5'3"; my staying weight was 335, I'm currently 267.6. My ultimate goal is 150, my next intermediate is 250.

I've been obese my entire life, I think from about 4th grade on. Highest weight was almost 350, my lowest adult weight was 199. I tend to be a little muscular (now buried under a ton of fat) but fairly well proportioned.

I'm feeling defeated, too much weight to go and I'm finding myself starting to cheat more and more. I could use any help, encouragement, tricks

Ok first things first...the cheating? Relax! Don't beat yourself up over this. Tomorrow is a new day. Try and think about why you are cheating. Are you hungry? If so is it because you really need food or is it some other emotion? Don't beat yourself up over the cheating...I promise you that will make it worse because we eat to comfort ourselves. The more you beat the more you cheat!

I agree with jztime here... Try hard not to beat yourself up. We can only go forward, not backwards, so there is no point in dwelling. I too struggle with my eating after my 200+ pound weight loss. It is new ground for me and I am having to relearn everything about my relationship with food. There are a lot of great books and support groups too.

Being open and honest is a good start. I use to hide my binge eating from others. Now I am telling family and friends so they can help keep me honest. It is not an easy journey, but one well worth the effort.

    You CAN do it!

small changes lead over time to BIG RESULTS...
