There is life beyond the Plateau!

Posting because I'm feeling dang successful today. I was stuck between the same two pounds for TWO MONTHS. It almost felt like that was the new normal and nothing was ever going to change again. I was just going to have to get used to being at this weight FOREVER.
Yes I slacked when I began to plateau and thinking that way, I had burnt out a little on logging and wasn't as persistent in my running routine.
After that "rest" I have gotten into a new routine, been logging and feeling good and low and behold I've started dropping pounds again. I can even see it in the mirror.

At times you will plateau (mine was weeks and weeks). Good on you for getting back on the wagon

Thank you for your post! I feel like I'm going to be stuck here forever, and feel very much as you've described.
Very well done for sticking at it and getting through :-)0 -
I hot the plateau after two months, and have been there about a month. Eating well (but a little bit more than when I started), exercising well (but a little bit less than when I started) and noting everything I eat (except the occassional mini bar of chococlate.)
Time to get back in the game! Thanks for the motivation.0 -
Woo hoo! That's great work! You showed real dedication to keep chipping away at it.0

Well done. I kind of had a mini plateau when nothing changed for about 2-3 weeks then now again I'm starting to shed pounds again. Was strange, I wrote a post saying I'm fed up not losing anything then the very next day I had lost 2 lbs and the day after 3 lbs. That's 5 lbs in 2 days!? The human body can be strange at times! :-)0

I personally think a plateau is inevitable, If you start off with a large amount of weight to lose then losing 2 or 3% of, for instance, 50lb is going to represent 1 or 2lbs lost. Once you get nearer your goal weight you might only have 5 to 10lbs to shift, 2 to 3% of that is going to be negligible.
I don't know if it is a valid technique but my gut instinct would be to go on to maintenance for a couple of weeks and then restart the deficit and hope that kicks off some weight loss.0
