A weighing in question

I have a very obsessive tendency with pretty much all things, which feels extremely high right now especially. I have started weighing myself every day, which I know is a bad idea because the last time I tried losing weight I ended up doing the same and had an eating disorder type thing by the end of it.
I know I shouldn't be weighing in every day because of this, but I have no idea how often I should do it. When would you suggest that would be the optimum amount of time to wait?

Weekly, fortnightly, monthly... Whichever you prefer0

If you feel it's an issue, weigh in weekly or every two weeks. Just do it consistently.0

Being honest, I weigh every day too but I only record once or twice a week. I don't get upset by the little fluctuations though. Because you do, try to weigh twice a week at most and once would be better if you can manage it.0

I do this. Weight myself in the morning and at night. Cant help myself.
Your better doing it once a week to once a month maybe. But i do it every day to push my self and so i know how well im doing or if i gain lol0 -

It's a personal preference. Some people don't weigh at all and just measure themselves or take pictures every couple weeks.
I weigh daily, but use apps that will average out all the fluctuations and show me if my actual trend is down. Downward trend is all that's important. Weight fluctuates for a lot of reasons.
I also take measurements and pictures. The scale doesn't determine how you look, so measurements and pictures are important. For example: I kept some of my clothes from the last time my weight fluctuated in the 125-135 lb range. I'm just entering that range now and those same clothes are too big. What does this mean? It means I have more muscle mass/less fat than I did back then. I'm smaller even though I weigh a bit more.

Frequency matters less than doing it in a consistent setting (same time of day, same amount of clothing, etc.) I weigh first thing every morning after using the bathroom, but that's because I like using the information to see how I compare to a week/month ago. If you can't handle seeing the number go up and down, then weekly at most will be best for you.0

You need to weigh according to what suits you. Many do it every day but they have to be able to understand fluctuations, the need for consistency and know they are just looking for a trend.
If you have had difficulties before, then its still important to understand about fluctuations and that its just data, but maybe to as toad suggested and do weekly or fornightly.
I would also use other measurements such as fitness, tape measure etc to get you away from looking at just weight because other measures are valuable as well.0 -
If weighing in triggers you, then don't weigh in. You'll know you're losing when your clothes loosen up and are falling off.0
