And my very first created post on MFP.

So, I'm very excited: got my first-ever food scale, a Camry combination food scale and measuring cup:
amazon.com/Camry-Digital-Measuring-Detachable-Colorful/dp/B00EJAK7TQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1435518855&sr=8-1&keywords=camry+food+scale+measuring
and just weighed my first item: cherries. 16 cherries. 206g, for a total of 109 calories. Which is actually equal to "number of cherries" estimate of 15 cherries for 77 calories. But good to know. This evening, I'll weigh my visually estimated 4-ounce cut of flank steak and see how off I am. Should be interesting.

This slice of steak weighed in at 3.75 ounces - not too bad!

I actually make a little game of seeing how close my guess is to the actual weight. I'm getting pretty good at slicing off 28 grams of cheddar off the block.

I can tell it'll be a fun game and kind of gratifying whenever I hit close to home. And then I can legitimately show off to my brother, who's far more used to my being mathematically off in just about everything.
