Forum topics vs blog posts

I participate in a motivational group and use my blog to post weekly progress results and so on. The content looks neat on the blog, you have control over it, you can post pictures and play with the way it looks, but it seems that people have trouble spotting it and the blog post can easily go unnoticed.
Still, I'm not sure which one is the most effective and visible way to post something and reach out to people. Any suggestions?

I find you since we are friends and I see when you update the blog. I haven't found a way to search blogs yet so I think they are harder to use/post in. I am in several groups that use forum topics and new members are always asking to join. If you want new members, I suggest forum topics. If you want to keep the group small and manageable, cont with blog posting. You can always put charts in a blog and post link to it on the forum. Either way, I'll try to keep up to date. Thanks for being such a great leader!!!
