Changing my "mantras" or self talk

My old mantra that I would always say to myself was: "It doesn't matter."
Which really translated to: I don't matter

I have decided to take my weight loss seriously and also to eat more healthy foods. And I have come to realize that just because I can eat a treat – ice cream, cookies, danish, potato chips, french fries, etc. doesn't mean that I have to. It's so simple but yet it feels very powerful to me to be conscious of these thoughts or what I am calling mantras.

And my new mantra is: what can I do to help my body? What is it that my body is telling me I need?

Just because I can doesn't mean I have to. (For times when I'm looking at treats and high-fat food.)

Just because it's hard doesn't mean it can't be done.
