Go to 'Exercise' on menu, select an exercise, your weight and time exercising.

MFP does overestimates exercise by quite a bit.
On the forum the recommendation is to only eat back about half the exercise calories indicated.

Since it's very hard to understand how many calories you truly burn from exercise or your metabolic functions, I would recommend switching to the TDEE method, tracking for 4-6 weeks and then adjusting intake based on results.

Just because you downloaded an app, doesn't mean it will be accurate. Heck, even HRM are only accurate for steady state cardio. In the end, the apps (even MFP) are just guestimates. You have to take that into consideration that some of this will be trial and error. The reason I suggest the TDEE method is it's much easier to estimate true energy out when eating the same calories daily then playing the "eat back xx number of calories burned".
