Macro question

ive been following my macros pretty consistently lately and I thought that when I worked out I noticed the amount of fat and sugar I could intake increased. Lately, it doesn't matter how many calories I burn, the numbers stay at their original amount. I know you can eat back some of the calories you burn, but I really want to stick to what my macros suggest. Has anyone else experienced this?

So you are saying that when you add your exercise into MFP, your macros are not adjusting with it? Fat is a macro and it is based on a percentage (assuming you are not using the premium service that lets you set it by grams) so it should increase when you add in exercise calories. I don't ever look at sugar so I'm not sure if that should increase or not. If what I described is what is happening, though, I think that you should contact the MFP people to see what is going on with your account.

I look at the fat macro as a minimum, by the way. MFP sets it by percentage but I have a gram figure in my head (because I don't pay for the premium service) that I know to watch for. I aim for .4 grams per pound of body weight which, when I round it, comes to 60 grams per day. I only rarely end up under it so I don't watch it as closely as I do my protein and overall calories but, again, I see it as a minimum. I wouldn't worry about going over it (and I normally do go over) just as I wouldn't worry about the sugar (assuming you don't have a medical need to limit your sugar.)

look at protein first, fats then carbs...sugar is of no consequence unless you have medical issues.

If your fat isn't increasing with exercise calories talk to MFP. It should increase.
