Hopped on the scale this morning and was not pleased with what I saw. a 12 pound increase over where I was 2.5 months ago.

And of course you're probably saying, "dude, you only check in every 2.5 months?!?!?!" And you'd be right to belt such an exclamation.

See the thing is I was seeing great results up until april - hiking all the time and diligently watching my calorie intake.

Then I got involved in a home project that took some real time - and while it didn't burn nearly as many calories as daily hikes - I figured it couldn't hurt too much and just kept eating the same.

The point of this post is not to make excuses - but to formally and publicly acknowledge that there are simple things I could have done to not let that happen. Get on the damn scale! Daily.

No, the number on the scale is not everything - but it can sure help you course correct sooner. At a couple pounds. Not 12.

Kicking myself - but also re inspired to shed it hard.

Anyone else have this epiphany?
