Im curious if anyone could give me a ballpark calorie burn estimate for playing tennis (doubles) for an hour and a half? I'm 5'9" female and my UP24 seems to be low balling my burn, but I don't think I trust the MFP estimate. Any guesses?

I wonder about this too. I play singles, and I don't trust the MFP estimate either.

My solution has been to log my tennis time as doubles which doesn't really help you. My guess is that the doubles calorie estimates are fairly exaggerated as you don't get the same lateral movement as when you play singles or walking. (at least not as consistently)

I'd log your time as doubles tennis but modify time spent playing. (I know this is inaccurate, but I'm working with what I have and it has been working for me) I do something similar when I go rock climbing. I may be "climbing" for 3 hours after work but I log 45 minutes of actual climbing on MFP.

Does anyone play tennis with a HRM? I really am curious about the calories burned.

I post lots of tennis. I think it WAY over-estimates. But I don't really know. If you are worried about an over-estimate, and you are trying to track calories in order not to overeat, just cut the amount of time you log. Just to be sure.

That won't work, the sport is too intermittent and you'll end up with massively over-estimated burns.

I stagger my calorie goal each day, so some days I eat exercise calories and other days I don't. I'm typically a singles player and trying doubles for the first time. I miss the calorie burn of singles play!
For now I just decreased the amount of time (so I played for two hours but I only logged 60 mins) but I'm hoping a new FitBit will give me a better estimate. Thanks for your input!
