Low Carb Examples...

Hi all! I have realized I have issues with trying to keep my carbs down and meeting my protein goals. I am trying to get about 100+ grams of protein (30%), and below 100 grams of carbs and anything else in fat. I would like to be about 30% protein, 35% carbs, and 35% fat. I feel like I get about 80 grams protein, fat is higher than I would ideally like, and carbs end-up higher as well...

I've done some research, and given my size (5'0") I know my macros need to be higher in protein and lower in carbs. Any examples of your daily menus following this example would be greatly helpful!

Hi there, I am doing same thing.
For breakfast, I just had a scrambled egg, sautéed peppers and onions with about 2 tbsp. quad.
Lunch is typically a leftover meat from last nights dinner in a salad with lots of veggies.
Snack is usually nuts and a piece of fruit
    Dinner, a meat and vegetables.

I typically eat 3 ounces of protein at meals...if you need more for your percentage, then have bigger portions.
I hope this helps a little.

While the macros you've listed aren't all that "low carb", definitely consider making the most of the carbs you are eating: nutrient dense vegetables, berries etc. High quality carbs are preferable.
With macros like yours, a lot of the south beach diet phase 1 and 2 recipes would be appropriate.

Love this! I know probably my biggest issues are the snacks and lunches... I try to think ahead of time and bring what I need at work, but usually end-up failing. I think salads need to be my key lunch with a protein, veggies and the dressing as the fat. Dinner I'm usually good at making a protein (chicken or fish) and a side of veggies.

I won't lie, my biggest issues are planning. I hate cooking and usually busy on my weekends (even Sundays). Weekdays are better for me, but when I get home from work, the last thing I want to do is spend hours in the kitchen planning.

I should mention, I try to get anywhere from 1400-1500 calories a day. Just trying to come up with some ways that I can plan my meals better to achieve my macros better.
