LMAO. I just posted in your other topic as well. Funny thing... after a couple days of no alcohol, I worked out this morning for the first time in years. I have never been into a.m. workouts much, mainly because my body can't seem to cool down quickly enough afterward and I sweat in my work clothes. But I guess my recent experience is just the opposite of yours. Maybe your body just needs a day off.

Well I see that you are the mother of 3 teens, so that could explain some of it...stress tires you out! But beyond that, think about things like: are you going to bed at a regular time and getting 7 hours of good solid sleep - not drinking caffeine into the night? is your mattress comfortable for you? How much soda/caffeine do you drink throughout your day? I do feel energized after I work out and in general since my lifestyle change in January have felt better overall. Doesn't mean I necessarily wake up energized, but definitely not waking up exhausted. Not sure how long you have been at this, but give your body time to adjust to all the changes you are making and by all means if you don't see an improvement it is always good to talk to a health care professional and maybe have your thyroid checked out (that is a biggie and if you find yours doesn't perform up to par, they prescribe synthroid to boost it and it will also help with your weight loss!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Hi there...and congrats on the non alcohol...that is a particular demon of mine at the weekends...I applaud you!

Are you eating enough calories to help you keep your energy levels up? I would suggest not eating immediately before a workout but try something 2 hours before to ensure you have enough energy. maybe a light snack afterwards. Maybe your body is adjusting to the workout...I know I sometimes have a down period after an intense work out but these usually dissapear once my body has adjusted to the new regime. :flowerforyou:

OOH, I want some of that synthroid ASAP!!!! Hope my thyroid is slow! Calling my dr right now!!!! But yes the three teens! You know ur right. this week, Monday had to leave work early to take the oldest to get her senior pics taken, tuesday left work early to go the youngest 8th grade promotion to high school ceremony. then when i got home, took the oldest to and from work (she's about to get acquainted with public transportation), cooked, etc etc. then still get up at 3 or 330am to make my 4am workouts. think i went to sleep around 10-11pm-ish. Ok, tonight i need to go to sleep at 8pm!

I've heard it takes a month of working out consistently to start to feel "normal" again... that definitely happened for me this time. When I started working out in January, I remember thinking "God, what is going on, I'm exhausted!!!" but by February, I felt much more accustomed to it. Give yourself four weeks and reevaluate!! Don't give up, you can get there!!!!!!!

Maybe doing the same things everyday is making it hard for your muscles to recover - could you change one of the workouts to swimming / dancing / pilates or something that uses your body in a slightly different way?

wednesday: 45 mins cardio: 15 mins jog on treadmill, 30 mins elliptical

Eating a little something (light) before your work out might help. You also want to make sure every day you are allowing your body to get the rest it needs and sometimes your body needs more rest than you think. You also might be tired because you are over training, you can over train your muscles and this can lead to injuries.

Hope that helps.. Keep up the good work.

LL Cool J has a book called Platinum Workout. He gives a breakdown of which nutrients should be eaten when. Basically. 25-30g of protein per meal, depending on your caloric intake. Good carbs in the morning. Simple carbs before and after workouts.

Simple carbs are those that are considered bad. They are considered bad because they are a quick energy source, but what is not used turns to fat. He does recommend using them before and after workouts because they give you the boost you need to sustain your workout but you are guaranteed to be burned because youre working out!

    Hope this helps!

My brother follows this book like his bible and he is thin and muscular...just sayin! LOL
