I got my diet and workout plan set to lose body fat, but have a question about the workout...

I started a bet that whoever lost the most amount of body fat in 3 months wins money. We haven't started and I doubt the other person is going to do it so I'm on my own to figure this out.

I got a routine from some body building website & got my calories, 40% protein 40% carb 20% fats all calculated. The workout is 3 days training different areas of the body w/ 20 min cardio, 2 days a week is cardio for 30-40 min and then rest 2 days.

Here's where my question comes in....
The training days are circuit training. I do like 12 push ups, 12 something else, 12 something else, etc. and once I finish those reps, I start all over again from the beginning 2 more times.

Luckily I work from home so I can split out the training throughout the day, but that would mean I would do 12 push ups really quick and then work for another 30 or 40 min, then do 12 something else and then work for another 20 minutes, etc. Basically what I'm saying is that I can divide each individual exercise up throughout my day, but I can't do a whole circuit of all the exercises all once and then go back to work.

My question is, would this even be effective since I'm going to be "resting" for such a long period in between exercises? I can walk on lunch so I'm not worried about that, but not sure of the other part.

OP, how many calories are you consuming and are you eating exercise calories back?

Yes, it will be effective for getting stronger to a certain extent.

I think the only issue you might run into is that if you did it all at once, it would get your heart rate up and keep it up the whole time, burning more calories, whereas if you split it up, you lose some of that benefit. Strength-wise, it's probably a good starting point if you haven't been doing any of that up until now.

As long as that part of it is meant for strength training and the cardio is separated for calorie burning, you don't have to worry about time in between circuits.
