I want to do the 30 min walking and strengthening workout that was posted on the blog today 7/2. It looks fun and very doable. But, how do if figure the calories burn to set up a customized exercise program?

I'd use a heart rate monitor to figure out a close-ish estimate of calories burned.
For example: I don't trust the "calories burned" according to my elliptical (700+ per hr). Instead I monitor my HR (140-170, ave about 155bpm) and use an online tool to calculate calories burned for the length of time and average HR (~600 in 60min @ 155lbs). Then I only count 2/3 of those when I log my exercise (400).0
