ipod nano, how to attach?

I am thinking of getting an ipod nano so I can listen to music at the gym. I don't know what the difference is between different ipods. How do I attach the ipod to me? I'm afraid it would fall out of my pocket.

Generally people just put their iPods in their pockets. There is a clip on the side so you can attach it to a belt or the side of your trousers or shorts.
