My story is not unique. I've been trying to lose weight on and off for what seems like a decade now. I've tried a bunch of diets, thinking each time that "this one will work for sure!" when all it really did was mess up my ability to listen to my body and figure out for myself when I was actually hungry.

I've spent so long following weird, restrictive meal plans that I have no idea how to plan out and make regular meals for myself. So this time I want to try just counting calories, staying under my TDEE, and working out by walking and doing pilates.

I'll be 26 next month. 5' 10" and hovering around 250lbs. I'm getting married in six months, and as much as I 'd love to be down to at least 200 by then, I realize that not going at my own pace is one of the things that's been messing me up. So we'll see.

Looking for people with similar goals!

Rough idea of what kind of person you'd be adding: I enjoy shows like The office, Parks&Rec, Regular Show, Steven Universe, Trigun, Cowbow Bebop, and Avatar. I like gaming as well; Skyrim was my entire life for quite a few months while I was recovering from hip surgery. Also yeah, had to get my hip worked on a year ago due to genetic dysplasia, so running/ high impact sports aren't an option for me, even at my goal weight. Feel free to ask me about anything else!

Good luck! It took me a long time to realise that plain calorie counting would work for me...so glad I started in the end. This way is so much more sustainable than faddy diets even if they work well in the short term.
