When to change weight settings?

So my understanding is if you weigh less you don't need as many calories, yes? So seems to me as you lose weight you should adjust your settings at some point so the app does not recommend an unproductive daily calorie goal. So when's the best time to make that adjustment? I started my settings at 130 pounds, 0.5 pounds per week. MFP set me to eat 1490 per day. I've since lost a few pounds, but still looking to lose a bit more. Thing is even at 0.5 per week and with losing a few, I still don't feel like I can eat whatever and have to think about how to be conservative without feeling hungry. So the point is I don't want to plateau, yet I don't want to jump the gun and set a lower limit too soon. I can't find a page on the site that explains.

MFP will autoadjust every 10 or 20 lbs (I forget which). If the range in the ticker in your profile is accurate, the difference in calories between your starting and end points will not be that much.

Yup mine does at times my advice is to evaluate your goals every 10lb loss just to be sure. If you increase or decrease exercise goals too or change activity level ( so if you change job to a more active one or less and you find you're working out more) then adjust manually too.

Exercise goals have no impact on the MFP calculations

I'm 5'1". Yes, not needing to lose a ton, but with some lumps and bumps and bulk I wouldn't mind reducing.

Makes sense, but I'm not even looking to lose that much. Probably no more than 10 pounds at this point. Just wasn't sure at what point the change in calorie needs due to lost weight become significant and make a difference, but it sounds like it's not a big deal unless your looking to lose multiple 10s of pounds.
