Re-start insanity after fail

Okay, sohere goes. I've been over weight for as long as I can remeber. Now I am in my mid-20s and want to make a difference. I started insanity about 20days ago, but due to moving and because I was apprehensive of my health I would only do the workout every other day. I've decided I'm going to star the workout again from the begining, but this time I want to try and stick to it everyday, as after almost 3 weeks and no results I want to make a difference.

I am still apprehensive about my health and the well being of my joints and muscle, because I find that after I have done a workout I cant get up or suffer from severe backpain the same and following day. Is there anyway I can combat this.

Thank you for your help

    Hi,

I too started insanity but I quit after 17 days and had more days off than was supposed to. So I quit and started an easier programme. I began Jillian Michael's 30ds along with 6 week 6 pack.

My thinking is that the 30 day shred will help to lose weight and tone and then 6 week 6 pack will help strengthen my core. They are enjoyable workouts, they make you work up a good sweat and I believe they will bring my fitness levels up so that in the future when I start insanity again, I'll be more prepared. :-)

    Good luck :-)
  • Hey,

Thanks for the reply. I has got me thinking

It would be interested into check out JM.
I've looked at some of the "before and after" pics on the internet and am wondering, would u get the same results at 30 days with insanity as you do with this one? Also is it a lot easier that insanity? I am wondering, as I wont be following the diet due to living at home (we're the kind of family that eat every meal together lol), would this be better maintainence after a high intensity course such as Insanity.

I do enjoy insanity and I feel that my "excessive breaks" were more due to my fear of making my joints worse and not being able to concentrate on my studies as a result of this (exam time is getting closer. lol).

Good advice. Maybe try something less intense. Insanity is an extreme program and very tough. I did it last year and found it very challenging and I've been working out with Beachbody programs for years. Make sure that you eat right too. 70% of you results are directly attributed to what you eat. Eat to exercise - don't exercise so you can eat. Many people fall into this trap.
    Good luck!!

Your program should have arrived with a nutrition plan complete with recipes. Take a look throught it. There are some very tasty and nutritious meals laid out in it.
  • i've looked at it.
I'll be able to do breakfast and lunch recipies, but maybe not dinner due to family, so I may have to cut out meal 4 as dinner in this house is quite fatty :/.

Good for you. I quit after three days! I got a migraine on day three, tried to do it on day 4 and obviously wasn't feeling up to it, but since then it's really put me in a negative mindset that I 'can't'. Love the sweating, but I am not a very fast mover (I hate dancing and anything requiring rhythm).
  • Thats ashame about the migranes. Do you usually get them or do you think it may have been from excessive sweting resulting in a mild dehyrdation?
